\"The<\/a>The EU \u201crenovation wave\u201d has already been announced for launch in September 2020 and will aim to triple the current renovation rate allowing \u201cfaster and deeper renovation\u201d of buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will minimize potential regulatory barriers and stimulate a faster pace of building renovation across the EU.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first place to start will be energy efficiency, and the renovation of Europe\u2019s building stock.<\/span><\/p>\n

Priority will go first to public sector buildings, especially hospitals and schools as well as social housing and other forms of low income dwellings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The European Commission\u2019s energy chief has flagged the upcoming building renovation wave as a\u00a0 key priority for the energy sector in the recovery phase from the Coronavirus crisis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aiming for hospitals, schools and SMEs as the first target areas for investment because these sectors are particularly affected by the crisis,\u201d she told participants at an online event.<\/span><\/p>\n
